Some
facts you should know about a registered agent in Connecticut:
"registered
agent," "statutory agent" and "resident agent"
are three names for the same thing: an agent authorized by a company
to receive documents and notices. (Since the three terms all refer
to a Resident
of the state acting as an AGENT,
we have coined the term "ragent" to include them
all). In the State of Connecticut "registered agent" is
associated with corporations and "statutory agent" with
LLCs. In both cases they are considered "agents for service of
process."
Your Connecticut
registered agent may be (1) a domestic company formed under Connecticut
corporate law (2) a foreign corporation authorized to transact business
in Connecticut or (3) an adult individual who resides in Connecticut.
Connecticut does permit a limited liability company or partnership,
whether formed in Connecticut or qualified to do business in Connecticut,
to act as a registered agent in Connecticut.
It is important
to note that a Connecticut registered agent must have a Connecticut
street address rather than a post office box and that the registered
agent must sign a consent to be registered agent and file it
with the Connecticut Secretary of State.
APPOINTING
A NEW CONNECTICUT REGISTERED AGENT
We welcome newly
formed companies, as well as companies previously formed who presently
have an overpriced resident agent, or a registered agent whose quality
and dependability may be open to question.
If you are forming
a new company yourself (or qualifying your company to do business
in a new state yourself) and are interested in our registered agent
services, just check the first box when you order
online. (If you want legal assistance in the formation or qualification
process, you may want to contact 4inc.com,
which is also affiliated with the Inc.Link®

If you are an existing
company which desires to change its registered agent in Connecticut,
you may do so at any time by completing a change of Connecticut registered

you for signature. Upon its return (signed) to us we will take care
of filing this form, and we will also pay the fee which must be paid
to the Connecticut Secretary of State to make the change.
If you would prefer
to sign the form first and send it to us so that we may complete it
and file it with the Connecticut Secretary of State, along with the
filing fee, the change of Connecticut registered agent form can be
found at http://www.ct.gov/sots/lib/sots/commercialrecording/allforms/change_of_agent-domestic-all_entities.pdf
Just sign it and
get it to us and we will take care of the rest.
If your present
